Harrogate Stitch and Craft Group:  meet today, Thursday, February 21 at Bilton Community Centre, 48 Bilton Lane at 7.30pm for a work night.  The group meets monthly for talks and demonstrations on a variety of crafts.  Visitors are welcome. Coffee, computers, books, meet an author: at Bilton and Woodfield Community Library on Saturday, February 23.  The library is open 9.30am-1pm.  Author Paul Smith will be in attendance 10am-noon and the computer help desk will also be open during the same hours.  Coffee and cakes are available until noon also the big second hand book sale.  The library coffee mornings on the last Saturday of each month are quite special.  Go along and give them a try.  The Library is on Woodfield Road on the same site as the school and Children’s Centre.

Jumble Sale: at Bilton Grange United Reformed Church on Saturday, February 23 at 11am raising funds for the charity Supporting Older People.  Go along and pick up a bargain whilst supporting a worthwhile local cause at the same time.  The church is on the corner of Woodfield Road and Skipton Road.

Bilton Grange URC Monday Fellowship: on Monday, February 25 at Bilton Grange United Reformed Church, 10.30am a representative from Supporting Older People will talk about the work of the charity.  Telephone 01423 503221 for further details.

Services at St John’s: on Sunday, February 24 Holy Communion is at 8am and all-age Communion at 10am.  At St Luke’s morning worship is at 10.30am.  Next week  morning prayer is on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9-9.30am.  On Wednesday, February 27 Holy Communion takes place at 10.30am.

Bingo: at Bilton Community Centre on Monday, February 25 at 2pm.  Everyone is welcome to go along and join in the fun.  Admission 30p bingo books 50p each

Storytimes: at Bilton and Woodfield Community Library for pre-school age children take place every Tuesday at 10am.  Children and their carers listen to stories and take part in easy craft activities.  During half term older siblings are also welcome. 

Bilton Area Methodist Lunch Club:  has changed its programme to make way for a special pancake event in March, of which there will be more details next time.  This means there is an unexpected opportunity to enjoy a good lunch on Tuesday, February 26.  The cost is £4.  To find out more or book a place telephone Averil on 01423 506600.  The church is on Skipton Road with the main entrance and car park at the rear off Bar Place.

Bilton Men’s Forum: will be entertained by Norman Oberheim on Tuesday, February 26 at Bilton Community Centre with some more wonderful photographs.  Tea is served from 2pm and Norman starts at 2.30pm.  New members welcome.

Bilton Ladies Forum:  it is the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, February 24 at Bilton Community Centre, 7.30pm.  This may be a good opportunity to find out more about the Ladies Forum which meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month between September and June to enjoy a varied programme of talks and demonstrations.  To find out more telephone Jane on 01423 545511.

Harrogate Model Railway Club: is having an Open Day on Saturday, March 2 at Bilton Grange United Reformed Church, 10am-4pm.  There will be six plus layouts, displays and trade stalls.  Refreshments available throughout.  Admission £3, children £1

Escape Pain:  a new series of session starts on March 7 at Bilton Health and Wellbeing Hub, 69 Bilton Lane.  They are aimed at people aged over 55 who have or suspect they have osteoarthritis in their knees or hips. They consist of appropriate levels of physical activity and support around areas such as managing pain and dealing with anxiety and nutrition.  The cost is £30 for six weeks.  The sessions are on Thursdays 2.30-4pm and Saturdays  9.30-11am between Match 7 and April 13.
